Things people ask us

Quick answers to the questions we hear most. If you don't see yours here, drop us a line — we're happy to help.

Getting Started

What is Brand New Day?

We're a non-invasive neurological and mobility clinic in Lenexa, KS. We pair advanced diagnostics — EEG brain scans, full-body performance analysis, gut microbiome testing — with targeted therapies like electro-muscle stimulation, photobiomodulation light therapy, and Scrambler therapy. Our methodology is “Track & Treat”: measure what's actually happening, then apply the right tool for the job.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly with us. If you're working with a primary care physician or specialist, we're happy to coordinate care and share findings with their permission.

What conditions do you typically work with?

Chronic pain, neuropathy, post-concussion symptoms, traumatic brain injury recovery, stroke recovery, long COVID, persistent inflammation, gut-related fatigue, and athletic performance optimization. We also see a fair number of people who simply want to baseline their nervous system and stay ahead of decline.

How do I book my first visit?

Call us at 833-724-6522 or send a note through our contact form. We'll usually respond within one business day to schedule a complimentary intake conversation before you commit to a first appointment.

Diagnostics & Biometrics

What is an EEG brain scan?

EEG (electroencephalography) measures the electrical activity of your brain through sensors placed on the scalp. We use the WAVi platform, which produces clinical-grade reports on cognitive function, response time, and biomarkers like P300. It's painless, takes about 30 minutes, and gives us real data — not guesswork — about what's happening neurologically.

What does the Full Body Performance Analysis measure?

It's a non-invasive cardiovascular and autonomic assessment using TM-Flow technology. In about 15 minutes we capture data on circulation, autonomic balance, vascular health, and early markers of metabolic dysfunction. It's the same exam you may have heard called the Cardio-Neuro System — same device, broader use.

What is the gut microbiome scan?

A stool-sample test that profiles the bacteria, yeasts, and pathogens in your gut. Results help us understand whether inflammation, neurotransmitter production, or autoimmune patterns may have a gut-origin component — which is far more common than most people realize.

How often should I re-test?

For most patients on an active therapy plan, we recommend re-running the relevant baseline at 3 months and again at 6 months. For maintenance and prevention, annually is usually enough.

Therapies

What is EMS (Electro-Muscle Stimulation)?

EMS uses controlled electrical impulses delivered through a full-body suit to activate muscles directly. A 20-minute session can engage muscles equivalent to hours of conventional training, which makes it especially valuable for patients recovering from injury, dealing with mobility limitations, or who want strength benefits without joint stress.

What is PBM (Photobiomodulation) light therapy?

Specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light delivered to tissue stimulate cellular repair and reduce inflammation at the mitochondrial level. We use it for wound recovery, neuropathy, joint pain, post-concussion recovery, and a number of other applications. Sessions are comfortable and non-invasive.

What is Scrambler Therapy?

Scrambler is an FDA-cleared neuromodulation therapy that “scrambles” pain signals before they reach the brain by delivering carefully patterned non-pain signals to the same nerve pathways. It's particularly effective for chronic neuropathic pain, including chemotherapy-induced neuropathy and post-surgical pain that hasn't responded to other approaches.

Are these therapies safe?

Yes. Every therapy we offer is non-invasive and either FDA-cleared or backed by extensive clinical research. We screen for relevant contraindications during intake — for example, EMS isn't appropriate for patients with certain implanted devices.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your condition and your goals. After your initial diagnostics we'll recommend a treatment plan with a specific number of sessions and a timeline. For most chronic conditions, plans range from 6 to 24 sessions over 4 to 12 weeks.

Visits & Logistics

Where are you located?

We're in Lenexa, Kansas, just off I-435. See our contact page for the address, hours, and parking information.

Do you offer telehealth?

Some consultations and follow-up reviews can be done virtually, but our diagnostics and therapies require in-person visits because they involve physical equipment.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing for most visits. EMS sessions require a special suit which we provide. We'll send you specific guidance for your appointment when you book.

How long is a typical session?

Diagnostics range from 15 to 60 minutes. Therapy sessions are typically 20 to 45 minutes. Plan to be at the clinic for about an hour total per visit, including check-in and discussion.

Billing & Insurance

Do you take insurance?

Some of our diagnostics may be reimbursable through your insurance plan or HSA/FSA. Many of our therapies are out-of-network. We provide itemized superbills you can submit for possible reimbursement, and we're transparent about pricing up front so there are no surprises.

How much does treatment cost?

It depends on your plan. After diagnostics we'll provide a detailed estimate for the recommended therapy course. Most patients invest somewhere between a few hundred and several thousand dollars depending on the complexity of their condition. We offer payment plans for longer treatment courses.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Most of our services qualify. We provide receipts coded for HSA/FSA submission. Check with your plan administrator if you have questions about eligibility for a specific service.

Still have questions?

We're a phone call or email away. The intake conversation is complimentary, and we'll point you to the right service for what you're working through.
